When is Mardi Gras 2025? Get Ready for an Unforgettable Celebration!

Mark your calendars! Mardi Gras 2025 is just around the corner, and it promises to be one of the most vibrant and exciting celebrations we’ve seen. This year, festivities will culminate in the Krewe de Riviere Parade rolling through the Twin Cities on February 8, 2025, beginning at 5 p.m. in West Monroe, Louisiana. But what makes this parade so special? Let’s dive in!

The Krewe de Riviere Parade Details

The Krewe de Riviere Parade is a highlight of the Mardi Gras season, attracting thousands of participants and spectators alike. This year, around 1,500 parade participants will bring the streets alive with creativity and excitement. The parade will start at N 7th Street in West Monroe and will flow south towards Mill Street, eventually crossing the Lea Joyner Bridge into Monroe. A new route has been introduced this year, enhancing the celebratory experience for both the participants and the viewers.

What to Expect?

Prepare yourself for a mesmerizing spectacle! The theme of this year’s parade is ‘Out of this World’, and the floats are sure to reflect this. Expect to see stunning decorations inspired by aliens, scenes from beloved sci-fi movies, and much more. The Grand Marshal for this parade will be the Monroe Moccasins, who will be throwing special hockey-themed beads to celebrate the occasion. Additionally, the renowned Grambling State University Band will grace the parade with their musical talents, and the Louisiana LunaChicks will lead the Queen’s float.

One of the most exciting aspects of the Krewe de Riviere Parade is the abundance of throws. Over one million throws will be distributed during the event, with crowd favorites including light-up toys, trinkets, moon pies, decorated rubber ducks, and, of course, the classic beads!
